We need your help to ensure your child is happy and learning. This means it’s okay to chat at the gate on a morning, tell us anything that we might need to know. You can also email or message school via our Seesaw App. We will do our best to reply as soon as we can. If you want to speak to Mrs Smith or a member of The Children and Families Team, please do not hesitate to call in or phone the office and someone will get back to you quickly. Please remember, we are here to help.
Workshops and meetings
There will be opportunities for you to come and learn about school life. We hold workshops and meetings so you can find out how we teach phonics and reading and maths, feedback has been very positive about the workshops, we hope you can come along. There are also three meetings a year where we invite you to come into school so we can discuss your child’s progress. These are great opportunities for us to celebrate the progress your child is making.
In December our Reception children perform a play to parents and carers, this is a really special event and we know one that families never forget.

Our Nursery holds stay, play and learn sessions which are really popular and good fun, look out for these invites every term.
| Activity | Description |
| Talking | Talking with your child builds their vocabulary, helps them understand the world, and supports emotional development. Chat about your day together. Ask open-ended questions like “What was the best part of your day?” Encourage your child to tell stories or describe what they see around them. |
| Share Books Every Day | Reading together is one of the most powerful ways to support your child’s learning. You don’t need to read lots at once – just a few minutes every day makes a big impact. |
| Encourage Independence | Allowing children to try things for themselves – like putting on their coat, tidying up, or pouring a drink – helps build confidence and problem-solving skills. Praise their efforts, not just the results! |
| Make Learning Fun | Maths and literacy skills can be woven into everyday activities, such as: Count steps as you walk Spot numbers and letters in the environment Bake together and talk about measuring and time Sing nursery rhymes and action songs |
| Play Together | Play is how children make sense of the world. Join in with imaginative games, build something together, or explore outdoors. Follow your child’s lead and enjoy the moment – it’s all learning! |
| Stay Connected | We love working in partnership with families. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, share something your child has done at home, or let us know if there’s something they’re struggling with. We’re here to help and support you too. |
