We want our children to be prepared to for learning and life, you can see how our offer supports all children in our school. At Breckon Hill governors, senior leaders, teachers and all staff believe that good behaviour is the foundation of all learning, and without a calm, orderly atmosphere, effective teaching and learning cannot take place.
We believe that children respond best to praise and encouragement. We try to find every opportunity to praise children when they are showing appropriate behaviour. At Breckon Hill Primary School we have three school rules:
- Work Hard
- Be kind
- Be Here
We use The School Games values to remind children of these important values in being their best self.

We have lots of weekly awards at Breckon Hill. The weekly cup of kindness award is particularly popular and the winning pupils get to choose a lovely cup to take home to keep! We celebrate pupils demonstarting our school values with Awards Assemblies each term. Every child will be recognised over the year.

Making Good Choices
We recognise that all behaviour is a form of communication and look to support a child and their family where a child finds managing their behaviour a challenge. We focus on restorative practice, helping children understand the impact of their behaviour and make better choices. Consequences are applied calmly and consistently. Individual needs (including SEND) are considered when applying sanctions.
